Abstract

Residual levels of nine organochlorine pesticides (aldrin, p,p'-DDE, p,p'-DDT, dieldrin, endrin, heptachlor-epoxide, lindane, o,p'-TDE and p,p'-TDE) were determined in UHT whole milk and they were compared with the maximum levels allowed by the European Union in these foods. The highest incidence percentage of the insecticides researched was for heptachlor-epoxide (59.38%), followed by lin-dane (56.25%). Moreover, the highest mean residual level was for p,p'-DDT (0.1872 ppm). None of the samples analyzed exceeded the maximum levels allowed by the European Union.
