Abstract

The absortion of levamisole was studied in fifteen New Zealand white rabbits after subcutaneous administration of 12.5; 16 and 20 mg/Kg. The plasma levels of unaltered levamisole were determinated by high pressure liquid chromatography and fitted according to a two-compartment model. Peak plasma experimental levels of levamisole, 3.51, 4.36 and 4.78 ug/ml, were observed at 10, 20 and 20 minutes respectively after dosing and this fact indicates that levamisole is rapidly absorbed following subcutaneous administration.
