Abstract

A study has been carried out on thc Streptococci of group D of Lancefield encountered in livers of broilers put into the market after having been inspected by the Veterinarian.
The isolation and identification of these organisms based on SHERMA 's criterium were ca­rried out in Slantz and Barley's Medium, Barner's Medium and Renner et al. 's Medium, the efficiency of which is compared and discussed.
Streptococcus faecalis and its variety zymogenes predominate among the species isolated, followed by Streptococcus durang and Streptococcus faecim. The variety liquefaciens of Steptcoccus faecalis was not isolatcd in any Medium.
