Abstract

Programmes in Fortran IV have been carried out with the purpose of fitting functions composed of several linear functions or stretches which are subject to the necessary restrictions according to the problem, by means of an interative process.
The function composed of the aforementioned stretches must always be contuous, which will involve the equality of each consecutive two linear funtions in the singular point of separation.
Besides these restrictions which will be necessary in all the problems posed, other additions will either be imposed or not, according to the problem under consideration.
By means of an interative process, the values of the singular points and parameters will gradually be obtained, following the criterion of least scuares
Finally we have set out the use of the programmes carried out in biological problems and their practical application.
