Abstract

In most Mammals, the main cranial bronchus is regularly distributed into dorsal and ventral branches, but in the case of the Carnivores, specialy in the dog, there is a great variety of the territorial distribution of this cranial bronchus.
We have studied a group of dogs of different breeds in order to carefuly analyze the varieties of the territorial distribution of this bronchus.
We observed that the greatest frequency corresponds with the division of the cranial bronchus of the right lung into two branches; however, there was a lower frequency where the cranial bronchus presented a dominance of the first dorsal segmentary bronchus.
In some cases, we found that the division of the cranial bronchus was accompanied by preponderance of the first dorsal segmentary.
In several of the dogs studied, we have also described the bronchi-vasculars relationships for the lobular territory of this bronchus.
