本文基于多明我会神父如高母羡(Juan Cobo)、贝纳比德斯(Miguel Benavides)、黎尼妈(Domingo de Nieva)和多麻氏(Tomás Mayor)等人的中文著作与书信,以及其他相关资料,分析这些作者的汉学水平及其对中华文化的态度,探讨他们在马尼拉(菲律宾)学习中国语言与文化的过程,以及他们所依赖的材料。本文旨在厘清其汉学研究的主要目的、方法、手段及成果,以及他们如何将汉学知识应用于传教工作。本研究还将他们的汉学研究置于特定的历史与地理背景中,以客观地评价16世纪末至17世纪初西班牙传教士汉学研究的特点。
