Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).

  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect format.

  • Authors are encouraged to include the ORCID number.

  • Wherever possible, URLs are provided for references.

  • Text is single spaced; 12 point font size; italics are used instead of underlining (except in URLs); and all illustrations, figures and tables are placed in the appropriate text places, one time at the end.

  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author´s Guidelines, which appear in "About the Journal".

  • If submitting a peer-to-peer section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring anonymous evaluationshould be followed.

  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Form for the evaluation of articles  submitting should be followed.

Author Guidelines

Word limit. Research papers manuscripts should be around 10,000 in Chinese, or 25 pages in English or Spanish; book reviews should be less than 5,000 words, including references, appendices, footnotes, tables, and figures.

• The norms of elaboration of bibliographic references are elaborated based on the APA style.

Summary and languages. Presentations should contain an abstract of approximately 200 words. English and Chinese titles, abstracts, and keywords are required for manuscript written in Chinese or English; Title, abstract and keywords in Spanish, English and Chinese are required for the manuscript written in Spanish.

Keywords are between 4 and 8.

Footnote and sources. Sinología Hispanica uses footnotes instead of final notes and simplified Chinese characters in the font Song, article in Spanish and English in Trebuchet MS, 11 for the font, the space between lines is 1.0. If special fonts are used, send them along with your manuscript in electronic format, PDF.

Financing details. Please provide all the details required by your funding and grantmaking bodies as follows:

For single agency grants

This work was funded by the [Funding Agency] in Grant [number xxxx].

For multi-agency grants

This work was supported by [Funding Agency # 1] in grant [number xxxx]; [Funding agency # 2] in grant [number xxxx]; and [Funding agency # 3] in grant [number xxxx].

Presentation letter. Each collaborator is asked to provide a short cover letter (academic qualification of the author or authors, interest in the research, affiliation, postal addresses, telephone numbers, acknowledgments, etc.) of 50 to 60 words. All this information should be on a separate page of the manuscript.

Structure. Your article should be compiled in the following order: cover; resume; keywords; introduction of the main text, materials and methods, results, discussion; expressions of gratitude; declaration of interest; references; appendices (as applicable); table (s) with subtitles (on individual pages); figures; figure captions (as a list).

Tables. Tables should present new information rather than duplicating what is in the text. Readers should be able to interpret the table without referring to the text. Provide editable files.

Figures. Figures must be of high quality (1200 dpi for line art, 600 dpi for grayscale, and 300 dpi for color, in the correct size). Figures must be supplied in one of our preferred file formats: EPS, PS, JPEG, GIF, or Microsoft Word (DOC or DOCX).
