Abstract

The purpose of the present paper consists of analyzing the relation established between cinema and Spanish Surrealism, pointing out their powerful connections according to specific theoretical parameters and aesthetic values, which entail notions linked to the idea of “cinema as mechanical eye” –derived from Italian and Russian Futurism. In such context, it is necessary to study the creative atmosphere of Ultraísmo, the conceptual corpus of “Santa Objetividad” developed by Salvador Dalí, and the fetichist voyeurism in Buñuel’s films, without leaving aside the rich range of hipertextual implications generated in this scene.
