Cuestiones de género: de la igualdad y la diferencia is an annual journal created in 2005 on the iniciative of the Interdisciplinary Seminar of Studies of Women of the University of León and has been published uninterruptedly in all months of June since.

It is open to all investigation works carried out on the feminist and women’s studies area with the aim of consolidate an academic and interdisciplinary space of inquiry, encounter and debate on gender matters. It welcomes unpublished submissions in any of the official languages of the European Union

Peer evaluation process

The Journal will acknowledge receipt of the originals within a maximum period of eight weeks from the closing date of the call and will decide to admit them based on whether they respond to the editorial line of the same and that they comply with these rules.

After their admission in the first instance, the originals will be sent for blind review to 2 external expert evaluators (double blind peer-review), outside the direction of the Journal.

The evaluators will have a period of one month to issue their report and may condition their favorable report to the realization of the proposed modifications that improve, in their opinion, the evaluated work.

In case of discrepancy in the reports, the Management may seek the opinion of a third evaluator or be based on a decision made by the Coordinators of the number.

Once the Editorial Board receives their reports, they will decide whether to accept or reject the originals, notifying the authors.

Accepted articles will also be indicated the appropriate suggestions and corrections that must be made by the authors and sent to the Editorial Board within a maximum period of 7 days.

Open access policy

Cuestiones de género promotes open access to scientific literature and provides researchers with free access to all articles from the moment they are published.

The journal will under no circumstances charge authors for publishing openly. Making research freely available to the public encourages greater global knowledge sharing, enhances the visibility of authors and papers, and facilitates early citation.

Originals

Cuestiones de Género is open to receiving original (unpublished) scientific articles, not previously published, nor in the process of review or publication in another magazine or periodical publication.

Papers may be written in any of the official languages of the European Union. All works will include a Title, Abstract and Keywords in the original language and in English.
